The markets have been reviewed, and today's three Follow The Money selections come from the meetings at Brighton and Nottingham...
The first back of the day is Ganymede in the 14:25 7f Handicap at Brighton. Ganymede beat another of today's runners Dr Red Eye by a comfortable length and a half last time out. As both were having their first outings of the season, we expect both to strip fitter this afternoon but Ganymede stayed on well and can again overpower the front running Dr Red Eye who needs everything to go his way up front. Ganymede has been well supported this morning, 3.052/1 in to 2.26/5. In this three-runner race it looks like a match between the two. George Downing takes the ride for Eve Johnson Houghton-trained gelding.
Our lay of the day is Casila in the 1m 2f Hcap in the 15:45 at Nottingham. Casila has drifted from an early 3.45 out to 4.1. The filly has run well this season without managing to get her head in front but solid support for both Rainbow Pride, 3.65 in to 2.915/8, and Mr Bissto, 8.27/1 in to 5.49/2, makes Casila an attractive lay at the prices. Rainbow Pride, a late foal, trained by Sir Mark Prescott on its handicap debut must be respected, the support only increases confidence. Mr Bissto, out the back over a mile at Newbury in soft ground, has since shown some ability on the all-weather at Kempton and Wolverhampton. Stevie Donohoe takes the ride for the Ian Williams-trained gelding. Let's hope it is all gravy for Mr Bissto!
Our second back of the day is Bobby Benton in the 1m Hcap in the 15:55 at Brighton, who has been well supported this morning from 8.415/2 in to 5.59/2. Trainer Luke Dace has an excellent record in 3yo-plus handicaps at Brighton, he's five from 16 (£19.50 profit to a £1 level stake) in the last four seasons. Dace trains locally in Bilingshurst and looks to have laid Bobby Benton out for this race today. Last time out at Windsor Bobby Benton travelled well until 3f out over 1m 2f. The drop to a mile will suit and he may be well treated off a mark of 69 if he can translate his all-weather form to the turf.
Back Gannymede @ 2.26/5 in the 14:25 Brighton
Lay Casila @ 4.47/2 in the 15:45 Nottingham
Back Bobby Benton @ 5.59/2 in the 15:55 Brighton
