The markets have been reviewed, and today's three Follow The Money selections come from the meetings at Ludlow, Exeter, and Kempton...
We start at Ludlow in the 14:40 where Aerial is hard to assess switching back to Handicap Chases from Hunters/Points but if the market signals are to be believed, backed in to 4.47/2 from 6.05/1, he is tuned for a big run. He's back in the care of Paul Nicholls and runs off a greatly reduced mark, in easier company and under conditions that will suit. His well-being is assured with two Point wins and a second place in a Hunter Chase three weeks ago. Sam Twiston-Davies takes the ride and everything looks in place for a big run.
In Exeter's 16:35 Kayf Willow has been notably weak in the betting, currently trading at 3.052/1 having been matched as short as 2.265/4 and she is our lay of the day. There isn't much form to go on so the market move looks significant. The mare is taking on geldings here including the well backed Holy Cross, who is a half-brother to Champion Hurdler Binocular and travelled well on his debut (should improve for it) and Briac whose stable have an excellent record in National Hunt Flat races. With two strong contenders against her we are happy to take on Kayf Willow.
The second back comes in the 17:25 at Kempton. Ghalib has been heavily supported, from 8.415/2 in to 5.04/1, to make a winning debut for the up and coming Ed Walker yard. The key to his chance appears to be not only the stable switch but also the drop to six furlongs. As a half-brother to the unbeaten triple six furlong winner Harbour Watch, the drop in distance could be the making of him, particularly has he didn't get home over further as a two-year-old but still showing useful form. With improvement likely the selection can overcome the wide draw and an aggressive ride is anticipated.
