Today's Follow The Money comes from Ayr and Pontefract.

"Spike has seen significant support in betting on the 14:10 at Pontefract shortening from 2.829/5 in to 2.245/4 after attracting more than half of the money in the market."

Starting with our lay which runs in the first at Ayr, due off at 13:20, where Zaina Rizeena has been on the, moving drift from 2.727/4 out to 3.55. Zaina Rizeena was a winner for Richard Fahey at the second time of asking when getting off the mark at Beverley last month. It's hard to write off this one's chances but the drift does look slightly worrying considering the strength of the support for one of her market rivals Speed Company, having taken the weight of the money in the market, and who holds similar form. Pythius, who holds an entry in the Racing Post Trophy, also looks a contender dropping down in class and this looks a tough race to win, we're following the money and laying Zaina Rizeena.

Next up is our first back, Spike, who has seen significant support in the 14:10 at Pontefract. Spike has shortened from 2.829/5 in to 2.245/4 after attracting more than half of the money on the market. David Barron's 2yo gelding was perhaps a little unfortunate when second last time out after being just caught on the line by a more experienced horse. That run showed his lack of racecourse experience when hanging to the left and running green when hitting the front. He should come on from that though and it would be no surprise to see him get his debut win here at Pontefract.

Back over to Ayr for the 15:30 where Nice Thoughts has made an attractive move from 6.3 in to 5.14/1. A winner two starts back and just beaten last time out when missing out by a neck. This 3yo is yet to be out of the frame in his last eight races and it's worth noting that last time trainer James Tate travelled to Scotland, from his Newmarket yard, with this one he got his due reward when scoring by over three lengths at Hamilton. The signs look in place from a horse that has put in a consistent string of runs of late and should get the better of his rivals here.
