Recommended Bets:

Back Go Dan Go @ 4.03/1 in the 14:30 at Beverley

Lay Bow And Arrow @ 3.7511/4 in the 15:00 at Beverley

Back Spring Dixie @ 6.05/1 in the 16:30 at Beverley

We start in the 14:30 class 5 handicap over an extended 7f where we can report Go Dan Go has been solidly supported from 6.25/1 in to 4.03/1. This gelded son of Dandy Man ran well on handicap debut 10 days ago, finishing a creditable second from a mark of 68 to a Godolphin hotpot at Redcar. Racing off the same mark, over a furlong less today, with the drop in trip expected to suit and with ground conditions (good to firm, good in places) similar to those encountered last time out. Trainer Keith Dalgleish has been amongst the winners over the last fortnight, so all in all a good run is expected from Go Dan Go and he is our first back recommendation.

The 15:00 class 3 handicap may be short on numbers with only five runners lining up, but is certainly not short of representation from some top stables. Early favourite Bow And Arrow representing Charlie Appleby and Godolphin has been shunned by our backers and has drifted from an early 2.747/4 out to 3.7511/4. Our lay of the day just squeaked home to win at Lingfield two weeks ago and has been put up 3lb for that effort. There are dangers lurking round all corners, however, with favourite and course and distance winner Pleiades (Sir Michael Stoute) making his seasonal debut, and the regally bred Enlace (Mark Johnston) both solid in our market. In fact a case can be made for all five lining up and with the market weakness taken as significant a lay of Bow And Arrow is the obvious call.

The trading graph on Spring Dixie (16:30 1m2f handicap) must be a joy to behold for those that like to see some market confidence behind their selections having been smashed from a high of 12.011/1 in to 6.05/1. His run last time out at Kempton in October looked full of promise as he ran keen for a while before being bumped and hampered two furlongs out. Our selection had no chance after that and ended up eleven lengths back in last place. Expected to have learned a lot from the experience, up in trip on ground that suits we should see a far better run today. In any case the market support is compelling and Silver Dixie is taken to notch up a first victory today.
