Recommended Bets

Lay Al Kazeem @ 4.1 in the 15:20 @ Curragh

Back Found @ 2.8415/8 in the 15:55 @ Curragh

Back Silwana @ 4.03/1 in the 17:00 @ Curragh

We start the day with the 15:20 Group 1 1m2f Tattersalls Gold Cup, where there has been a drift on Al Kazeem out to 4.1 from a low of 3.412/5.

Roger Charlton's runner has had a highly successful career so far gaining over £1.4 million and notching up nine wins from 22 starts. However, this seven-year-old by Dubawi was a beaten favourite earlier this month at Longchamp, leaving him vulnerable to one of the younger more progressive sorts, such as The Grey Gatsby, a winner of the Group 1 Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown last year, where he had Al Kazeem over six lengths behind him in fifth. A lay at 4.216/5 is the suggestion for Al Kazeem with the opposition looking too tough.

We find our first back in the Irish 1000 Guineas at 15:55, where Found has received steady support from 3.259/4 in to 2.8415/8.

This filly by Galileo was the antepost favourite for the English 1000 Guineas, but didn't participate due trainer Aiden O'Brien being unhappy with her preparation. This would appear to be the same issue that caused her slightly lacklustre run on her first outing this year where she finished seconded and was a disappointing beaten favourite in a Group 3 over 7f on heavy going. Today's run sees a return to 1m, the distance of her two successes, and drying ground, giving Found the chance to find her first Classic win.

Finishing with the second positive in the 17:00 2m Handicap, where Silwana has seen strong support in to 4.03/1 from a high of 6.25/1.

This unexposed four-year-old filly has only had three starts so far in her career, winning her maiden on her second start at Galway over 1m4f in August last year and then finishing a close third in a Leopardstown Handicap over 1m6f a month later, having led in the final furlong just to get headed in the final 100yds. Dermot Weld's runner has an entry in the Group 3 Curragh Cup and with her being the most open to improvement in the field and the step up in trip likely to benefit, Silwana could well take this race on her way to better things.
