The markets have been reviewed, and Sunday's three Follow The Money selections come from the meetings at Bath and Kempton...
Our first back of the day comes from the 14:30 at Bath where Glens Wobbly has been backed in from a high 12.6 into 9.28/1. At first glance this 7yo chestnut gelding may seem far from a sure thing at all, with his last run at Bath ending with a disappointing fifth place. However his strike rate at Bath is sitting at a healthy 28% with his five previous runs before that fifth place at Bath being three wins and two seconds. This combined with a similarly impressive strike rate by jockey Chris Meehan, who is currently sitting on 36% with 4 from 11 at Bath. With these statistics taken into consideration we feel Glens Wobbly will rediscover his form at a happy hunting ground for both horse and jockey alike.
Next we travel to Kempton for our lay of the day where Lord Lir in the 14:45 2m Nov Hcap Chase has been on a slight drift from 3.02/1 out to 3.3512/5. He is 0 from 7 with runs over 16f and we feel there may be enough competition in this race to be able to test Lord Fir and to prevent a third win on the bounce. Although Richard Johnson may be in hot form, trainer Tim Vaughan only has one win from his last 29 runs in the last 14 days, including 11 days and 29 runs since his last win over jumps, not the strongest form on which to think Lord Lir will be lording over the field today.
Our final back of the day comes from Bath in the 16:45 6f Hcap. Star Fire has been backed from 5.04/1 into 4.67/2 to make her the market leader by quite a distance. With George Baker in hot form at the moment with a 21% strike rate in the last 14 days and Star Fire already a winner at Bath this year we feel this could be a horse to be on the right side of this afternoon.
