Today's Follow The Money comes from Sedgefield and Lingfield.
"Diamonds A Dancing completed a hat-trick of all-weather wins last year all at this distance so it's little wonder he has moved in to 9.208/1 from 16.015/1."
The lay of the day is Amuse Me in the opening race at Sedgefield (13:00). The James Moffatt-trained gelding has been a drifter all morning, moving from [2.12 ] to 3.02/1 and although he has won his last two starts by a total of 23 lengths he looks worth opposing today. He has taken a hike in the weights - up 13lb from the first of those victories and there are others in the field that we prefer, including course and distance winner Perseid and Rocky Two who is making his handicap debut and appears to be off a good mark.
We head to Lingfield for both today's back selections. Mr Pickwick has been a warm order to win the 10 furlong handicap at 13:50, backed in from 4.03/1 to 2.447/5. Unplaced in all his four races, there is little to recommend him at first glance. However, he has shown some ability and ran on to good effect in his last race over a mile at Nottingham, and today's extra two furlongs should be ideal. This will be his first race on the all-weather but we fancy him to run a big race.
Finally, there has been plenty of support for Diamonds A Dancing in the apprentice race at 16:20. The Brian Gubby-trained five-year-old completed a hat-trick of all-weather wins last year all at this distance so it's little wonder he has moved in to 9.208/1 from 1615/1. Diamonds A Dancing should enjoy his return to the surface after running poorly last time out at Windsor where the going was good to soft. We expect an improved showing today and well worth supporting.
Lay Amuse Me @ 3.02/1 in the 13:00 at Sedgefield
