Today's Follow the Money comes from the meetings at Sandown and Punchestown...

Recommended Bets

Back Traffic Fluide @ 3.052/1 in the 14:25 Sandown
Back Rather Be each-way @ 8.415/2 in the 16:10 Sandown
Place Lay The Crafty Butcher @ 2.588/5 in the 17:00 Punchestown

Our back selection comes in the 14:25 at Sandown where the Gary Moore-trained Traffic Fluide has been well backed overnight from 3.711/4 in to 3.052/1. Philip Hobbs' Menorah will be bidding to win the race for the fourth consecutive year but it is the younger horse that punters seem to be siding with. A notably strong finisher in both the Champion Chase and Melling Chase, he has had cheekpieces fitted today for the first time today with the hope of lighting him up and race more kindly. We see the gamble continuing and recommend backing Traffic Fluide at 3.052/1.

Our each way selection comes in the 16:10 Sandown, the Grade 2 Select Hurdle. The Nicky Henderson-trained Rather Be has been well supported overnight and has come in for warm each-way support being backed from 9.89/1 in to 8.415/2. Winner of the Alder Hey handicap Hurdle at Aintree earlier in the month in impressive fashion, when travelling strongly before finding plenty, has earned him the right to take his chance at this level. There are plenty in the exposed types in this race including The New One, Old Guard and Modus to name a few, it may just pay dividends to take a chance on a potential improver and back Rather Be each way at 8.415/2.

Our Lay selection comes in the 17:00 Punchestown, where the Willie Mullins-trained The Crafty Butcher has taken a walk in the market which has seen him drift from 5.69/2 out to 8.615/2. Sent off a warm favourite for the Paddy Power chase at Christmas and running well into second when making late progress, the lightly-raced ten year old has been slightly disappointing this year. Ruby Walsh's mount has been raised 8lbs without winning this season and will need to be at his very best to win today in what is a very competitive Handicap Chase, which includes impressive Aintree winner Sizing Codelco who carries top weight. We see the drift continuing and recommend place laying The Crafty Butcher at 2.588/5.
