Day four of Royal Ascot is upon us, and the Follow The Money team have reviewed the markets to come up with these three selections...
Our first selection is in the Group 3 Albany Stakes at 14:30 and Sandiva has been well supported from 4.1 in to 3.412/5. Trainer Richard Fahey feels this is the best juvenile he has trained and she has looked a smart filly when winning both her races so far. She won her maiden at Nottingham by six lengths and the runner up has gone on to win since. She then made a smooth transition up in class by winning a Listed contest at Naas earlier this month beating Heart Focus by two lengths. She quickened well that day and won with a bit in hand and looks the one to beat today.
In the Group 2 King Edward Stakes at 15:05, Mutashaded has been backed from 14.013/1 in to 9.08/1. Roger Varian's 3-year-old colt is officially rated 88 so he has a lot to find on the figures, although he has looked a promising horse as he was impressive when winning a Sandown handicap last month. This Raven's Pass colt is having only his third run today and is related to German Derby winners Samum and Schiaperelli so the step up in trip should be ideal and the positive move for him suggests plenty of improvement is anticipated.
The negative for today comes in the Coronation Stakes at 15:45 where Just The Judge is weak in the market and has drifted out from 3.412/5 to 5.49/2. Trainer Charlie Hills' filly was unbeaten last season and her only defeat came when she was narrowly denied by Sky Lantern in the 1000 Guineas on her reappearance this year. She went one better in the Irish Guineas where she stayed on well to win by a length and a half. She is drawn in 17 and that has done her no favours and we are happy to take her on today.
