Today's Follow The Money is a Punchestown Festival special with the win selection coming in the feature at 17:30, followed by an each-way bet and a lay recommendation...

Recommended Bets

- Back Nichols Canyon @ 3.55/2 in the 17:30 at Punchestown
- Back Oscar Sam @ 11.521/2 in the 18:05 at Punchestown
- Lay Next Destination @ 2.01/1 in the 19:15 at Punchestown

For our win bet of the day we look to the feature race where Nichols Canyon bids to keep his 100% record at Punchestown intact and add another Grade 1 to his already impressive CV. The only horse to have ever beaten the mighty Faugheen, he has been supported from 3.814/5 into a current price of 3.55/2. Having beaten the majority of the opposition at the Cheltenham Festival last month there is little reason why any should reverse that form and while the unexposed Sutton Place may be on many people's shortlists, his first venture into Grade 1 company may prove a step too far this season and the Willie Mullins-trained seven-year-old is a confident pick to collect top honours.

Our each-way selection comes from the red hot combination of Robbie Power and Jessica Harrington who team up with Oscar Sam in the Handicap Hurdle due to post at 18:05. Having been nibbled at in the market this morning from a high of 13.5 it is currently trading at 11.521/2. A horse that will be fresher than most having skipped the major festivals of the season so far and this Oscar gelding certainly seems to like it round here being a dual course winner and finishing a close up third over C&D on his latest racecourse outing. If getting the required luck in running to win a handicap such as this there is no reason why this eight-year-old should not at the very least hit the frame.

Our lay of the day runs in the concluding bumper due off at 19:15. The Willie Mullins-trained Next Destination has been weak in the market all morning and is now available to back at 2.01/1 having been as short as 1.84/5 earlier. In what looks a hot bumper none of the seven can be fully disregarded but a chance can certainly be taken on the Closutton inmate finding at least one too good, in the form of very impressive bumper winners Catwalk King or Rathcannon.
