"Darsi Dancer definitely stays this trip, is only 1lb higher than that last win and prefers this kind of ground, so it might be worth chancing he will put his best hoof forward and run into a place at least in a wide open contest."
We start with the 2m 4f Handicap Hurdle at 14:40 in which there has been strong support for Princess Tara, now trading at 5.59/2 from 9.08/1. As the selection is making her debut for Malcom Jefferson this gamble demands attention. She seemingly lost her way this season, but the hope is that new surroundings will have a rejuvenating effect, especially now she has slipped to an attractive mark only 1lb higher than when winning at Ffos Las last year. Capable claimer Jamie Hamilton relieves 5lbs and the yard has sent out three winners from 12 runners in the last fortnight.
Moving on to the 16:25 Handicap Hurdle over three miles we find out each-way bet as there has been plenty of interest in Darsi Dancer, who now trades at 12.011/1 from a high of 20.019/1. Stuart Coltherd's unpredictable eight-year-old is one to watch after a break as proven when returning from a lengthy absence to score at Sedgefield last Autumn. Freshened up since February after some poor runs on deep ground there is a suspicion then that this assignment could prompt a return to form. He definitely stays this trip, is only 1lb higher than that last win and prefers this kind of ground, so it might be worth chancing he will put his best hoof forward and run into a place at least in a wide open contest.
Finally, Lowanbehold has been weak in the betting for the 17:00 3m Novice Handicap Chase, wandering from 3.02/1 out to 3.412/5. Sandy Forster's nine-year-old is in a rich vein of form after two Kelso wins but there are enough question marks about the selection to make him worth opposing. This assignment represents a rise in class, he has gone up 11lbs in the ratings this month and doubts remain over this longer trip, he was beaten both times he tried three miles previously. Furthermore he has never won on good ground and faces a couple of rivals, in Present Flight and Florida Calling, who are likely to improve for this sounder surface.
