Today's Follow The Money comes from the meetings at Fakenham and Nottingham
"With more than half the field making their debuts today, market moves can be very informative so the plunge on Outcrop suggests he is a decent each-way play at 11.5021/2."
We start with the 14:20 at Nottingham where Outcrop has come in for massive support making his first appearance on a racetrack. The Hughie Morrison-trained two-year-old has been backed from a high of 25.65 this morning and is now currently trading at 11.5021/2. The Berkshire-based trainer's horses have been running well without necessarily getting their nose in front recently and the booking of Jimmy Fortune can only be seen as a positive for the Rock of Gilbraltar colt. With more than half the field making their debuts today, market moves can be very informative so the plunge on Outcrop suggests he is a decent each-way play at 11.5021/2.
We go to the 14:40 at Fakenham for our back bet where Lee Side Lady has been well supported in the market backed from 2.6413/8 in to 2.245/4 and looks a worthy favourite. The Neil Mulholland-trained mare looks progressive and may still be ahead of the handicapper despite being raised 6lbs for her last win. The horse looked idle and was better value than what the winning margin suggested last time out. We are happy to put up the Noel Fehily-ridden charge as our back selection in what looks a poor race, currently trading at 2.447/5
We stay at Fakenham for our lay selection in the 16:10. The Charlie Longsdon-trained Definitly Grey has been easy to back and has drifted from 2.49 out to 2.6413/8. The five-year-old was all out to win last time out, and while he is sure to be better for the run, the form has not been franked and a 6lbs raise in the handicap may be enough to stop the Richard Johnson-ridden gelding. We recommend laying him at 2.6413/8 in what looks a competitive handicap.
