Recommended Bets

Lay Daphne @ 3.211/5 in the 16:25 at Newmarket

Back Rotherwick @ 3.55 in the 17:00 at Newmarket

Back Breakable each-way @ 7.26/1 in the 17:10 at York

We start with our lay at Newmarket for the 1m4f Maiden Stakes at 16:25 where the William Haggas-trained Daphne has drifted from 2.6213/8 out to 3.211/5. Although she holds an Oaks entry there has not yet been anything to suggest that this is realistic and we expect at least one other to be too good for her today, with Taffeta Lady in particular strongly supported by the market and expected to further improve for her debut at Sandown.

Next up is the 17:00 1m Handicap at Newmarket, where there has significant money for Rotherwick, backed in from 5.85/1 in to 3.55. Paul Cole's runner did not really build on his early promise last season but has now dropped significantly in the weights to what could well be a winning mark. He goes well fresh and has won at this track previously - we expect a repeat today.

Over to York for the 7f Handicap at 17:10 where the Tim Easterby trained Breakable has been supported from 11.010/1 in to 7.26/1. She ran well off this mark over course and distance in October and should progresses for her opening run at Catterick last month. The ground will suit and at the price she's worth an each-way flutter.
