Another cracking day of racing on offer today with some big market moves our follow the money today comes from Newmarket and Leopardstown...
We begin proceedings with our Each Way bet which is Eastern Impact in the 14:55 at Newmarket who has been supported from [9.95] into [6.8]. The Richard Fahey-trained sprinter bids to win this race for the second time in his career having won the race two years ago. A solid third last time out when arguably unlucky not to win should put him spot on for this. Likely to be have been laid out for this again he should give a bold showing under Paul Hanagan.
Our Lay bet is Yucatan in the 15:20 at Leopardstown which has drifted considerably form [2.32] out to [2.88]. An ultra-competitive Derby trial with Aidan O'Brien dominating the market having the first three in the betting. A beaten favourite last time out Yucatan is just one from five in his career which has to be concerning for backers here. Expect stable mates Capri and Douglas Macarthur to serve it up to the short priced jolly who is likely to come up short once again.
We round things off with the main event of the day which is the 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket at 15:35. Everyone wants to be on the right side of Rhododendron and we are no different having been available at [3.25] she now trades at a much shorter price of [2.38]. The Galileo filly really appreciated the step up in trip when winning over course and distance last October and looks set to build on that success again. Aidan O'Brien bids for back to back wins in the race after Minding's success last year and with stalemate Churchill winning yesterday it would be no surprise to see him land the Guineas double.
Back Eastern Impact Each Way @ [6.8] in the 14:55 at Newmarket
Lay Yucatan @ [2.88] in the 15:20 at Leopardstown
