Today's Follow The Money comes from an action-packed Newbury...
We'll kick off with our lay selection, in the 14:10 feature race. The Nigel Twiston-Davies trained Ballyoptic has been drifting steadily and can currently be backed at 3.39/4 from a low of 2.68/5. The lack of support is very worrying after he fell at the last on his first real test this season. That impressive unbeaten run finally came to an end at Wetherby and, with such a competitive race today against the likes of Unowwhatimeanharry and Snow Falcon, we are willing to take on the favourite and advise laying him.
In the 14:45, we find the each way selection, the Evan Williams trained Aerlite Supreme. Having come in for support, this runner can be backed each way at 8.615/2 from a high of 13.012/1. This runner was third over course and distance last term and after a decent second on seasonal debut, we feel he will come on from the run and easily defy the two pound rise in the weights. With cheek-pieces fitted for the first time, we feel the market interest is notable. He should be backed to be in amongst it come the winning post.
We finish our selections in the lucky last with our win bet, the 15:50, where Any Drama has come in for tremendous support. He traded at a high of 6.411/2 and can now be backed at 3.711/4. This five-year-old will relish the ground today at Newbury and should be suited by the step up in trip on his hurdling debut. This Harry Fry trained runner ticks all the boxes as well as a drop down in class on his previous run. We're hoping he avoids any drama in running in this competitive race which should provide plenty of winners further down the line this season.
