Recommended Bets

Lay Jezki @ 2.47/5 in the 13:05 at Navan
Back Neon Wolf @ 2.68/5 in the 14:05 at Haydock
Back Dadsintrouble each-way @ 4.94/1 in the 16:20 at Haydock

We get under way today with our lay selection, coming from the jumps action at Navan. We've decided to take on the Jessica Harrington-trained 2014 Champion Hurdle winner Jezki, which runs in the 13:05 two mile hurdle race. He was matched earlier on the exchange at prices under 1.75/7 but he has seen very little support since, with his price now hovering around 2.47/5 mark. He has been off the course for 632 days and on his best form would probably take this one today. However, given the extended absence and the significant lack of support in the market we recommend laying Jezki at 2.47/5. He is up against some decent opposition in this competitive race and he will likely find it too much first time back on the course.

We head across the pond to Haydock for our back bet of the day, which comes in the 14:05, a promising looking Novice Hurdle. Our selection here is the Harry Fry-trained Neon Wolf who has yet to taste defeat and will be hoping to keep his perfect record here today. He has won a hurdle race, a NH flat race and a point-to-point at varying distances between two and three miles. Fry's charge will have a couple of decent sorts in opposition of his six-year-old gelding here today but it is expected that this promising looking horse should have enough to carry Noel Fehily first past the post today. Early prices of 3.9 have long since gone but we recommend following the gamble and backing Neon Wolf at its current trading price of 2.68/5.

We stay at Haydock for our each-way play of the day, which comes in the 16:20, a handicap hurdle being run over two miles and seven furlongs. Tim Vaughan's Dadsintrouble gets the nod here today, he looked like having every chance when falling four out in Cheltenham last time out. This seven year old will be hoping to recreate it's winning form from its handicap debut at Wincanton back in April. The seven year old is bottom weight here today and will hope to make the most of this advantage in the latter half of what is sure to be a stamina test. We recommend backing Dadsintrouble each-way at his current price of 4.904/1, having been backed in from as big as 8.07/1 this morning.
