Today's Follow The Money selections run at Catterick, Navan and Haydock...
We start in Ireland and Navan's 15:05, a handicap over the minimum trip of five furlongs. It's rare we see early money for an outsider on an Irish card but we have seen support for Little Sweetheart. Matched as high as 28.027/1, Pat Flynn's mare has now been backed into 15.014/1. She ran no sort of race at Tipperary last time out on heavy ground but she will be much more effective on today's going. She also has plenty of early toe and has run well at Navan off this mark. If allowed to dictate affairs in front she will be tough to pass and we think she's excellent each-way value.
Our lay runs in the 15:50 at Cartmel. Gordon Elliot saddles Desoto County in this beginner's chase over two miles and a furlong. The gelding has been surprisingly weak this morning, drifting out to 2.01/1 from an earlier price of 1.814/5. He has good hurdle form in Ireland and considering connections the drift would suggest he hasn't taken that well to fences. With stiff opposition in the form of Altruism and Officer Cadet, the latter of whom has plenty of chase experience, he won't find it easy today and we make him a tentative lay at 2.01/1.
We end with our recommended back. In the 17:30 at Haydock we have seen plenty of money for Fighting Temeraire - Dean Ivory's three-year-old colt has been matched as high as 7.87/1, and is currently trading at 5.14/1. He should have won at Doncaster last time out where he had to switch a few times and when he finally got in the clear, ran on like a train, but then failed by a narrow margin. Today's draw isn't the best which makes the move even more encouraging and the 3lb penalty looks workable.
