Paul Nicholls' Full Blast has been well backed in the opener at 14:00, moving from a high of 2.68/5 in to 2.26/5. The four-year-old gelding has yet to shine on British shores, having shown promise on his debut in France - running disappointingly on both starts over hurdles at Chepstow and Fontwell at the tail end of 2014. He reportedly bled when pulling up on his second outing, possibly explaining why he didn't finish off his race. However, both races have thrown up plenty of winners, including top novice Bidourey who's now rated 138 over hurdles. It's hard to forget Full Blast was sent off favourite for those defeats and hopefully the combination of the first time tongue tie and hood will be fruitful for connections.

Next up in the 15:00 we find Caroline Keevil's Jack By The Hedge who has seen a significant plunge this morning, moving from 21.020/1 in to 11.010/1. Another coming off a prolonged break, the workmanlike gelding won his maiden at Fontwell in 2013. He then ran with plenty of credit in novice company at Exeter and Kempton. The son of Overbury makes his handicap debut this afternoon off a mark off 112, which looks more than fair. The other key reason the market may have shortened this individual is because of the services of jockey Tom O'Brien, who rode him to victory on the only occasion he was in the saddle, replacing stable jockey Ian Popham.

Finally in the 16:00 we find today's lay in the shape of Vexillum who is out from 3.211/5 to 4.1. Neil Mulholland's runner made smooth headway before getting the better of a well-handicapped rival at Sedgefield earlier in the month, but his record in recent years is very patchy and he's unlikely to follow up another decent performance in this sphere.
