Follow The Money: Everyone likes Charlie at Leicester

FTM serve up another three to consider today

The Bank Holiday Monday Follow The Money Selection come from the meetings at Windsor and Leicester.

"Charlie Croker wasn't beaten far by Middle Park winner Charming Thought over course and distance last season and that horse has proved to be top-class with a current rating of 118, so Charlie Croker's mark of 91 looks lenient to say the least."

Back Charlie Croker @ 4.84/1 in the 15:50 at Leicester

We start with our negative, which runs in the 13:15 at Windsor a handicap over a mile. Charlie Appleby's No Delusion is the lay after looking surprisingly weak at the head of the market - Matched as low as 2.486/4 she is currently trading at 2.942/1. She chased home group 1 winning filly Cursory Glance in May last year, only beaten a length, but was not seen until February where she picked up a relatively weak looking maiden at Lingfield, so it seems fair to say the filly has had problems. The form of that Lingfield race hasn't really worked out and the drift suggests she's running nowhere near last year's form.

Our first positive runs in Leicester's 15:50 a 6f Handicap where Charlie Croker is attracting a lot of support, backed in from a high of 7.26/1 to 4.84/1. Kevin Ryan's colt wasn't beaten far by Middle Park winner Charming Thought over course and distance last season and that horse has proved to be top-class with a current rating of 118, so Charlie Croker's mark of 91 looks lenient to say the least. Godolphin's Mistrusting looks like the main danger but the money suggests Charlie Croker will come out on top today. In a very competitive looking handicap a move like this cannot be ignored.

We stay at Leicester for our final selection following big support for Botanist in the 17:25 who has been backed in from 25.024/1 all the way down to 14.013/1 for a good weight of money. Shaun Harris' gelding has been out of form over hurdles this season and on both his two flat outings at the start of the year to boot. However, his runs at Wolverhampton and Kempton were over a mile and the extra four furlongs today could make the difference. He's a three time course winner and his run at Beverley last year over 1m2f where he was a fast finishing second suggests he will relish the set up to 1m4f. Punters are latching on to this and are backing Botanist at a great each-way price.
