Today's Follow The Money comes from the Monday afternoon meetings at Thirsk and Kempton...
We kick things off with our lay of the day. It comes from Thirsk in the 14:10 6f Maiden Stakes where Alpine Dream has drifted from 2.285/4 out to 3.711/4. A daughter of Dream Ahead, a useful two-year-old 5f/6f winner, our selection starts out in what looks like a very weak race. But the lack of market support is always a big sign in these kind of races and we are happy to be with the rest of the newcomers in the field.
Our next selection comes from Kempton in the 14:55 1m42 Hcap where Berrahri has been steadily backed this morning, in from 10.09/1 to 5.85/1. This four-year-old gelding has been in fine form of late with a good effort last time out, just two days ago at Newbury, when coming second, and four wins from 14 in all this year. The stable is having a very good spell of late, with stable jockey Kieren Fox on a 20.8% strike rate and a £18.50 profit to £1 stake when riding for John Best. The strong market support indicates that, if turning out well from a two day rest, Berrahri will run a big race.
Our final selection is also from Thirsk in the 15:40 1m4f Hcap where there has been strong market support for Ingleby Hollow, backed from 5.26 in to 3.412/5. He got off the mark at Pontefract (12f) in June and has raced well when runner-up in both starts since, at Nottingham and Pontefract, going down only to a progressive sort over 2m at Nottingham last time. He has been going the right way under top trainer David O'Meara and, with the form and the drop down in trip, it's hard not to fancy him for this one.
