We're off to Brighton for all three of Monday's Follow The Money selections where the team have two recommended wagers, and one that perhaps we should be looking to oppose...
In the opening 6f Maiden Stakes at 14:00 Betty Blue has been easy to back, wandering out to a price of 3.185/40 from 2.427/5
David Simcock's filly shaped well on debut at Lingfield when prominent through most of the race before fading into fourth. She can be expected to build on that at some point but all the rain means she will be encountering very different ground from the good to firm that day and, at this unusual venue which throws many inexperienced runners off their stride, it's easy to leave her alone at current odds. The money has poured in for Mark Johnston's Silent Dreamer who could be the one to beat.
In the next race on the card, the 14:30 6f Handicap, Telegraph has been solidly supported in to 6.411/2 from 10.09/1.
David Evans' 4-year-old has produced some lacklustre efforts over the summer but the gelding has caught punters attention today having slipped to a mark now 5 lbs lower than for a course and distance win on soft ground just under a year ago. The early deluge of rain has turned conditions on the south coast testing and so the selection can flourish once again at this quirky layout if turning up in the right mood.
Finally to the 15:00 6f Nursery in which Another Boy has been well backed in to 3.8514/5 from an earlier 5.16.
Ralph Beckett's colt boasts a Chepstow win on soft to his name so is one of the few in the field likely to handle the mud here. He has acquitted himself well enough at a more competitive level this term and thus this drop down to Class 5 represents a good opportunity for him to regain the winning thread.
Lay Betty Blue at 3.185/40 14:00 Brighton
