The markets have been reviewed and today's three Follow The Money selections come from the all-weather meeting at Wolverhampton...
We start off the day's selections in the 14:05 where Mick Dundee has been hammered in from 15.5 to 4.94/1.
Disappointing on his last three runs in handicaps at Wolverhampton, connections clearly remain optimistic that he can get his head in front and after the handicapper has taken five pounds off his back for his previous run they may well be rewarded. A new mark of 50 would take him three pounds below his last winning mark, which was over today's distance at Lingfield. Graham Lee remains in the saddle which is a big positive and trainer Richard Ford's yard look in fairly good order. The money is down in a very weak looking affair and we expect Mick Dundee to attempt to make all today and hopefully get us off to a bright start.
Next up is our second positive in the 16:10 where Muredach Kelly trained Canon Law has almost halved in price from 14.013/1 in to 7.26/1.
Having his first run today for his new trainer he races back in England for the first time since November 2014. He has been plying his trade over in Ireland for the last few months and has some fairly creditable form over various distances on Dundalk's all-weather track. He previously has competed at Wolverhampton over today's distance in handicaps in 2014 with a mark of 73/74 so it is easy to see why he is popular today off of a mark of 66. Graham Gibbons takes the ride and his price perhaps under-estimates his chance. We are hopeful he can get the next stage of his career off to a great start today.
Finally in the 17:10 we find today's lay in the shape of Amaze Me who has drifted from 1.855/6 out to 1.9520/21.
The Nick Littmoden-trained filly is having her first start since September 2014 and having had a look at the strength of the races she has been competing in she is clearly held in high regard at home, contesting in a Group 1 and a Group 3 on her previous two starts. She was well beaten in these races however and today will be the first time she races on a surface that is not turf. As we know many horses do not take to the all-weather surfaces and she is racing against horses with some all-weather form already in the book here today and also a couple of well-bred newcomers. With a lot of question marks about the favourite we are happy to take her on with the field for a low liability.
