We start the day at Leopardstown where Massinis Trap has been backed in from 10.519/2 in to 8.615/2 in the 15:00. Although not a regular winner, James Nash's bay gelding has put in some eye-catching runs of late. With the most notable of them being his latest effort when only five lengths behind Champion Hurdle hopeful Sempre Medici at Naas back in January. The money could prove significant in a fascinating contest where the other three market leaders have not had a run in a combined 1980 days! Massinis Trap could make his greater track sharpness count but it's still a competitive-looking race so we're happy to play it safe and mark this one up as our each way wager.

Moving on to Fontwell now where Grumeti has been supported in the 15:20, moving from a high of 5.95/1 in to a currently available 4.77/2. This Cesarewitch winner was travelling strongly before a mistake at the last cost him his chances in the Coral Hurdle at Ascot back in November and but for that mistake the selection could well of landed the considerable spoils that day. The drying ground should improve Grumeti's chances and trainer Alan King likes a winner here, boasting a 22% strike rate at the track with his hurdlers. If you forgive the error in his last race this looks an ideal opportunity to get back to winning ways before heading off to the festival.

Staying at Fontwell for the 15:50 in which Tipperairy has been easy to back all morning, shifting from 2.8815/8 out to 3.39/4. Dan Skelton's 5yo is yet to get off the mark after three runs and although the form from his last race suggests he might run a decent race here the market thinks otherwise. While Tipperairy has drifted market rivals Saucysioux and King Cool have been nibbled at, the former winning last time out at Plumpton while better is expected from King Cool after disappointing on his debut on these shores. The drift is a worry and in a fairly competitive field we're happy to take this one on.
