We begin with the Lay bet which is Vaniteux in the 14:05 at Kempton who has drifted from 2.35/4 out to 2.546/4. The Nicky Henderson-trained chaser has failed to win on his last four starts and faces no easy task today in this small but competitive listed event. Market rivals Vibrato Valtat and the unexposed Activial should be able to serve it up to the jolly especially the former who has received a wind op since his Tingle Creek effort. Vaniteux has a habit of finding one too good and today looks like it could be another one of those days.

Our Each-Way selection is Chesterfield in the 14:40 at Kempton who has been backed from 1716/1 into 9.08/1. Finishing mid division last time out at Ascot he was a real eye catcher making rapid progress in the later stages of the race. He is expected to improve massively for that effort considering it was his first run in almost two years. The handicapper surprisingly dropped him one pound after that allowing him to carry the light weight of 10-6. He should be more than capable of hitting the frame in this competitive Lanzarote Hurdle and at odds of 9.08/1 he makes plenty of appeal.

Finally our back bet is Geordie Des Champs in the 15:00 at Warwick which has been well supported from 4.05 into 3.185/40. The gelding tasted a surprise defeat at Newbury last time out when on a four streak winning run, heavily backed that day it is likely he bumped into a very well handicapped horse in Theligny. Stepped up to graded company today he is sure to take plenty of beating back on his preferred softer surface provided a victory here the 6yo should step into the Neptune Novice Hurdle picture at the Cheltenham Festival.
