Today's Follow The Money comes from the meetings at Kempton and Ludlow...
Starting at Kempton for today's each way selection in the 16:00 Handicap Chase over 3m, where Present View has been backed in from around 9.417/2 in to 7.413/2. The gelding, whose last victory came in the 2014 Cheltenham Festival, is only off a mark 3lbs higher than his festival win And although he was pulled up on consecutive starts in the autumn, he put in a reasonable effort last time out when second over hurdles on ground that was less than ideal. With better ground and a longer trip, he should challenge for at least the places at a nice price.
Over to Ludlow for the 17:10 Hunter Chase over 2m4f and our win selection Tugboat, who has seen steady support in from 2.35/4 into 2.111/10 and is clearly the one to beat. Although probably better suited to three miles and reliant on a decent gallop, he managed a course and distance win a fortnight ago and, in what looks a particularly weak race, he looks well set to follow that up with another victory today.
Staying at Ludlow for our lay selection in the 17:45 National Hunt Flat Race over 2m, where the Paul Nicholls-trained debutant Coup De Pinceau has been relatively weak in the market, drifting from 2.021/1 out to 2.447/5. Preference in the market is going with the Ben Pauling-trained runner Smoking Dixie and the Nick Williams-trained Grand Coureur who clearly has ability and is entitled to improve for his previous racecourse experience. With this in mind we feel there is enough for us to oppose Coup De Pinceau today.
Back Present View each way @ 7.413/2 in the 16:00 at Kempton
Back Tugboat @ 2.111/10 in the 17:10 at Ludlow
Lay Coup De Pinceau @ 2.447/5 in the 17:45 at Ludlow
