Welcome to today's Follow The Money, which today comes from racing Kempton, Brighton and Worcester...
We begin with our each-way selection. It comes from Kempton in the 14:00 1m3f Hcap where Thane Of Cawdor has seen some significant support, shortening from 12.011/1 in to 7.87/1. He returned from a break with a good second at Chelmsford but was never in the hunt there four days ago, however this track is his favourite and the return of cheekpieces today looks a smart move given that he finished first and second when previously sporting them in 2014.
We move on to Brighton for our next positive selection. It comes in the 14:55 1m4f Hcap where favourite Buteo Bai has been strong in the market this morning, backed from 2.915/8 in to 2.35/4. She showed promising signs in handicaps before emphatically triumphing over course and distance last Monday. This is a tougher test and she remains unexposed in these sorts of contests but even a 6lb penalty doesn't look enough to stop her following up with another victory here.
We conclude things with our lay of the day. It comes from Worcester in the 17:20 2m Nov Hrd where Peter The Mayo Man has been negative in the market, drifting from 2.3411/8 out to 3.211/5. He is a former Irish bumper winner who made a promising hurdling debut at Doncaster in February but failed to build on that when disappointing at Bangor the following month when he was a beaten odds-on favourite. He faces stiff completion today from market rivals Lostock Hall and Excellent Team.
