Today's Follow The Money comes from the meetings at Kempton and Chelmsford City.
"Only been beaten a nose at Chelmsford over 6f last month, the drop to five furlongs could be what this two-time Chelmsford winner needs. Punters seem to think so, Doctor Sardonicus has attracted early market support, moving from 8.415/2 in to 6.25/1 this morning."
For the lay of the day, we are drawn to the 14:00 3m Listed Hurdle at Kempton. The race promises to be a highly competitive affair, with Jessbers Dream heading the market but strong challenges expected from both Miss Crick and Rons Dream, who both have plenty of winning form. Last year's winner, Morello Royale, is a definite contender with her impressive Kempton record, while three-time winner Surtee Du Berlais has won at Kempton before and is bred for this kind of trip. Faced with such strong opposition, and trading at 2.747/4 despite a slight drift, taking on the favourite Jessbers Dream is just too tempting.
Our second selection is in the 15:30 at Chelmsford City, an excellent 1m handicap where there are some attractive each-way propositions. Pactolus is our pick, this course and distance winner starting to look well treated again. Down in trip to 1m, early market support has pushed him in to 15.014/1 from 9.28/1 and he'll be our each-way bet today.
The 16:00 at Chelmsford City should be a fascinating 5f Handicap and, while a lower draw would have been slightly preferable, we expect good things from Doctor Sardonicus. Only been beaten a nose at Chelmsford over 6f last month, the drop to five furlongs could be what this two-time Chelmsford winner needs. Punters seem to think so, Doctor Sardonicus has attracted early market support, moving from 8.415/2 in to 6.25/1 this morning.
