We're off to Kelso and Fairyhouse for Sunday's three Follow The Money selections...
We'll start in Scotland where we are going to take on Progress Drive who has been weak in the market of the 12:40 2m6f Novice Hurdle; drifting from 2.8815/8 out to 3.412/5. The Nicky Richards-trained gelding was a short price when he won a novice hurdle on his previous run at Ayr, but he put in a workmanlike performance to win by just a length and he has a lot more on his plate here. There has been good support for Sue Smith's Quietly, whom Progress Drive must concede 6lbs to and other rivals Ryedale Racer and Perfect Pirate have shown promise as well.
The best race of the day is the 14:30 Dan Moore Memorial Handicap Chase at Fairyhouse and Baltimore Rock may be worth backing at 7.26/1 having come in from 8.515/2. Neil Mulholland's eight-year-old is the most unexposed horse in the field and has plenty of scope to improve on just his sixth start over fences and after a promising first run of the season at Ludlow last month. He was seen as good enough to contest the Arkle Chase at Cheltenham last season and there is every chance this race has been his target from the start of the season.
We'll stay at Fairyhouse for our other back bet which is Laid Back Luke in the 15:30 2m4f Novice Chase. Sheila Lavery's gelding has been supported from 6.611/2 in to 4.3100/30 and now tops the market. Those backing the nine-year-old must be willing to forgive his last run where he was a distant fourth at Punchestown over and extended three miles. Prior to that he was a good second to Powersbomb, who was franked the form since, at Clonmel and back down in trip today, he should fare much better.
