Welcome to today's Follow The Money from the meetings at Lingfield and Catterick...
We start the day at Lingfield in their 13:50 Maiden Stakes opener. The Chris Wall-trained Matildas Law has been drifting this morning opening at 2.35/4 she's now available at 2.68/5. She's a promising filly, fourth of 14 in a maiden at Leicester (6f, good to soft, 33/1) last time out, always prominent but she will need to improve here and with challengers like Let There Be Light, who found trouble last time out but should improve and the interesting newcomer Ettie Hart with Paul Hanagan booked. There are enough question marks to make Matildas Law our lay of the day.
Over to Catterick for our first positive of the day in their 14:10 Maiden Stakes. Harmonic Wave will look to improve on her second placed finish at Beverly (5f, good to firm, 3/1) 13 days ago. The Ann Duffield-trained filly has been backed in to favouritism 3.7511/4 from 4.94/1 with Course-Jockey Silvestre De Sousa (28% Strike rate) taking the ride and connections opting to stay with maidens there's every confidence she can go on to win here.
It's a Silvestre De Sousa double today at Catterick as we look to their 15:10 Handicap and find Rock On Bollinski. He's been backed in to 6.25/1 from 12.011/1 and now sits second favourite in our market. Brian Ellison, like Silvestre De Sousa, enjoys a respectable strike-rate here but when they combine it's a massive 75%. Can such form continue? The market's convinced it can and who are we to argue?
Lay Matildas Law @ 2.68/5 in the 13:50 at Lingfield
Back Harmonic Wave @ 3.7511/4 in the 14:10 at Catterick
Back Rock On Bollinski @ 6.25/1 in the 15:10 at Catterick
