The markets have been reviewed, and all three of today's Follow The Money selections come from the meeting at Haydock...
We start proceedings with our lay of the day. It comes in the opener, the 13:55 1m4f Handicap where Mainstream has been negative in the market this morning, drifting from 2.8815/8 out to 3.9. Sir Michael Stoute's colt is in decent form having made it two from three when claiming the spoils on his handicap and seasonal debut at Salisbury earlier this month. However, more is demanded of him today if he is to be successful as he carries 6lb more and comes up against another impressive horse in the shape of Red Verdon who comes here off the back of a decisive victory at Chester last time out.
Featuring next is our Each Way selection. It comes in the 15:05 1m Handicap where Wild Hacked has seen some noticeable market movement, shortening up to 7.26/1 from 10.66. He showed encouraging signs last autumn where he placed in a few 7f maidens. He was then put over a mile at Windsor and stayed on well to suggest he could do something over this distance. A St James's Palace entry is rather on the optimistic side but it does show what kind of regard he is held in and is of definite interest off today's mark.
Our final selection comes in the 16:10 5f Grp2 Temple Stakes where Meccas Angel has been strongly backed from 3.06 in to 2.466/4. She is a top class 5f performer who will relish the slower ground should the expected rain showers arrive this afternoon. She was hugely impressive when dominating the American two-year-old Acapulco to land the Nunthorpe at York last August and anything close to that performance should see her home again today.
