The markets have been reviewed and today's Follow The Money comes from the Friday afternoon meetings at Haydock And Worcester...
Starting in the 15:20 6f Maiden Stakes at Haydock where Geoff Potts has been backed in from 6.05/1 to 4.67/2. This colt cost £95,000 at the breeze-up sales and made an eye catching debut at Sandown over 5f just two weeks ago. Breeding suggests this 6f (class five) should well be in his reach as his half-brother Douneedahand has already won two 6f races. He is sure to progress today and, although the danger looks to be the Roger Varian-trained First Rate, he is yet to see a race course and that should give us the upper hand.
Next up, over to Worcester in the 16:40 2m7f Selling Hurdle where the weak link in the market is Marjus Quest, who has drifted out from 2.3211/8 to 2.747/4. Already winning twice at this track over hurdles the selection would look like one to side with but his staying power is open to question, having never run over 2m4f. With strong opposition in the name of Wind Of Hope trained by Lucinda Russel, we are happy to take him on at the prices today.
Finally in the 17:50 the last race on the card at Worcester we find our second positive in the form of Mustmeetalady who is in from 3.8514/5 into 2.8615/8. He has done nothing but improve on both starts to date and showed great heart last time battling all the way to the line and finishing second. Most of the rivals here today do not have much to offer in the way of form and we think the shorter trip should not inconvenience him today. Coming from the powerful stable of Jonjo O'Neil and with Barry Geraghty in the saddle any improvement today will surley see Mustmeetalady in front come the line.
Back Geoff Potts @ 4.67/2 in the 15:20 at Haydock
Lay Marjus Quest @ 2.9215/8 in the 16:40 at Worcester
Back Mustmeetalady @ 2.8615/8 in the 17:50 at Worcester
