The markets have been reviewed, and today's three Follow The Money selections come from the meetings at Lingfield and Newcastle...
We begin with the 15:30 1m2f Maiden at Lingfield where Clarentine has been the subject of strong support this morning, in to a price of 2.3611/8 from an early 4.216/5. She ran a promising debut here over a mile last month, putting in some good late work to claim fifth in a race that has thrown up a couple of winners already. The step up in trip looks a good move on that evidence and this nicely bred filly looks to have strong claims for a yard that is ticking along nicely.
Today's negative comes in the 17:15 6f Handicap at Lingfield where Subversive has been easy to back, out to 2.727/4 having been matched as low as 2.3811/8 earlier this morning. Mark Johnston's 3yo made all to win at Wolverhampton on his reappearance last week and is turned out under a 6lb penalty today. There is no reason why he won't give his running but today's assignment looks tougher than the race he won last time and he may find something too strong this afternoon.
Our final selection comes in the 17:25 3m Handicap Hurdle at Newcastle where Baywing has been backed from 12.011/1 in to 4.67/2. This 6yo didn't show much in novice hurdles and seemed to lack a gear change on handicap debut when beaten 15 lengths by his stable mate, Sir Vinski. However today's step up in trip could be the key to unlocking significant improvement and the market is suggesting a bold show is on the cards.
