Today's Follow The Money comes from the meetings at Haydock and Nottingham.
"The market confidence behind Hassle would suggest he is ready to do himself justice first time out."
We start with the 15:00 at Nottingham, a 1m maiden, where newcomer Hassle is showing some interesting support from 8.615/2 into 4.84/1. Clive Cox's late starter is a half-brother to the top-class Chachamaidee and cost 200,000 guineas as a yearling. His opposition today have already had the chance to get their heads in front and the market confidence behind Hassle would suggest he is ready to do himself justice first time out.
We stay at Nottingham for the Lady Amateur Rider's race at 15:35 and Tawseef, with the assistance of top lady amateur Sarah Brotherton, is also receiving strong support at the head of the market, moving to 2.447/5 from 3.39/4. He relished the soft conditions when winning at Brighton last time out and gets the same going once more today. In what looks like a pretty uncompetitive race he is taken to follow up.
We move on to the jumps card at Haydock for their concluding race at 16:25 and Tahiti Pearl is on the drift out to 4.3100/30 from 2.89/5. He has gone up ten pounds for his win last time out in what was only a modest race. Also, both his wins have come at Sedgefield and he has struggled to come close to winning elsewhere. The rise in weights looks like it will be too much for him here especially with the market support for rival Parsnip Pete.
