Today's Follow The Money comes from today's meetings at Naas and Galway.
"Rule The World is returning from injury after fracturing his pelvis at Punchestown but the move from 3.185/40 in to 2.486/4 suggests he'll be ready for the race today with trainer Mouse Morris saying he has recovered 'unbelievably quickly'."
We kick things off in the 14:15 at Naas where Davy Russell takes the ride aboard the well-regarded Rule The World. Extremely impressive in his novice season last year he looks to be a real contender for some big races later in the year and potentially the Neptune at Cheltenham after finishing a fantastic second to The New One in the race last year. That form has worked out incredibly well and if he can run to a similar level of form here today he should take all the beating. The slight worry is he is returning from injury after fracturing his pelvis at Punchestown but the move from 3.185/40 in to 2.486/4 negates that and clearly he is expected to be ready for the race with trainer Mouse Morris saying he has recovered 'unbelievably quickly'.
For today's lay bet we head over to Galway for the 15:05. The Aidan O'Brien-trained Marchese Marconi is favourite to land the spoils but has been drifting in the market. Opening at 2.245/4 he has drifted out to 2.526/4. There are a few reasons for this drift but most notably is the sheer amount of runs he has had lately. Despite finishing second in the Irish Cesarewitch a couple of weeks ago there seems to be a feeling this may be one race too many and he could be beaten at a short price. His record in similar races to today's is patchy so the feeling is he could be well worth taking on today at short odds.
Finally we return to Naas where Spacious Sky has been well supported from 8.07/1 in to 5.95/1 for the 15:45. Spacious Sky has been running well on the flat lately, having finished a very good fourth in the Cesarewitch, and if he can convert that sort of form over hurdles today he has a very good chance. The market move indicates that this is expected. Ruby Walsh takes the ride - a major boost which can only improve the horses' chances. At 5.95/1 the price has still got some value and we are happy to recommend it as our final back bet of the day.
