Back Bella Nostalgia @ 8.615/2 in the 13:50 at Doncaster
Back Knock House @ 3.052/1 in the 14:30 at Fakenham
Lay Thahab @ 3.55 in the 14:55 at Doncaster

We start things off today in the 13:50 at Doncaster where Hugo Palmer's Bella Nostalgia has seen a sensational gamble this morning coming in from a market high of 22.021/1 in to 8.615/2. A lot has to be taken on trust as today is her first start for the yard but they do boast a 40% strike with two-year-olds at this track and therefore the money looks extremely significant. Hugo Palmer's Spanish Squeeze was the subject of a successful morning gamble just two days ago under today's jockey Daniel Tudhope and his services are employed again today. Given the weight of money she simply has to be kept on side and a back at large odds is the call.

Over to Fakenham for the 14:30 then and here we find the Mick Channon-trained Knock House very strong in the market on his chase bow. Opening up at 4.77/2 he now is as short as 3.052/1. He boasts some very respectable bumper and hurdles form from the past three years with the pick being a good second at Ascot behind Champagne West last year. He was disappointing in the Supreme Novice at Cheltenham after that but that shows the regard in which he is held and he has always looked a chaser in the making. He makes his debut over the larger obstacles today and he could be primed for a very successful season if taking to them as expected. The money would suggest there has been no problems in his schooling and a back is the call at 3.052/1.

We return to Doncaster for our lay selection in the 14:55. Thahab opened up this morning a strong 2.8415/8 favourite for Richard Hannon but has since drifted out to a mark of 3.55. Purchased for a million euros he is clearly expected to be very smart in time however this looks an extremely difficult introduction to his career with a total of 17 rivals to take care of. The pick of those are the Godolphin-trained True Respect and the Brian Meehan colt Mutarakez. Both are well found in the market and are interesting in their own right. Godolphin are flying at the moment and their newcomers are in very good order so any money, as the name suggests, must be respected. The Meehan colt on the other hand has a run under his belt, unlike the other two and will have learned a lot from his debut. The money would suggest a much improved run. With all this in mind it seems worth opposing Thahab today with a large field and some interesting opposition against him.
