Today's bets run at Hamilton and Lingfield.
"With one of the better apprentices on board, and up against a weak field, Star Kingodm will rarely have a better chance of breaking into the winner’s enclosure."
Our first race is the 15:30 at Lingfield where Sirius Superstar has had steady support to move from 7.87/1 to 5.59/2. He seemed to enjoy fast conditions when placing twice in maidens last season but he's struggled since stepping up to handicap company. However, he ran reasonably well last time out against stronger opponents, and with the in-form William Buick taking over in the saddle confidence seems to have been restored.
Over at Hamilton in the 16:10, Sabore has been on the drift this morning from 2.767/4 out to 3.2011/5. Still a maiden after eight races, this filly has proven to be somewhat unreliable, including when beaten at a short price two runs back. With most of her best runs coming on good ground, there is the suspicion that one or two of her rivals will handle today's heavy conditions better.
The final selection is in the 17:15 at Hamilton where Star Kingdom has been backed in to 3.4012/5 from 5.004/1 in this apprentice jockey's race. Another long-time maiden, he has begun to show signs of life on his last few runs, including decent efforts when faced with cut in the ground. With one of the better apprentices on board, and up against a weak field, he will rarely have a better chance of breaking into the winner's enclosure.
