Back Apricot Sky @ 4.216/5 in the 14:40 at Warwick

Lay Sporting Gold @ 4.57/2 in the 15:30 at Beverley

Back Quincy Des Pictons @ 5.04/1 in the 16:20 at Perth

We begin in the 14:40 at Warwick where Apricot Sky has been popular in the 6f Handicap, backed into a price of 4.216/5 from an early 7.413/2.

Henry Candy's lightly raced four-year-old is having only his second start in a handicap, having run well on handicap debut at Goodwood last season to finish a close up fifth behind Joey's Destiny. He travelled powerfully that day (traded four times lower than his BSP in-running) before tiring in the closing stages on ground that may have been softer than ideal. Back on a sound surface today he looks to have an excellent chance off a one pound lower mark with the rail draw to help.

Moving on to Beverley and the 1m4f Handicap at 15:30 where Sporting Gold has been easy to back, currently trading at 4.57/2 having been matched as low as 3.02 earlier today.

Roger Varian's five-year-old won a handicap at Haydock over this distance in September last year and isn't yet fully exposed on turf having only his fourth start today. However, he has been beaten four times since that handicap success, twice having been sent off as favourite. He faces several interesting rivals today, perhaps most notably Omnipresent (well backed, first start for David O'Meara) and Brigadoon (winner last time out, only second start for Michael Appleby) and the market drift suggests he may find one or two too good today.

We finish at Perth, where Quincy Des Pictons has been backed from 8.54 into 5.04/1 in the 2m4f Handicap Chase at 16:20.

This 10-year-old has run here twice and won here twice, including a gutsy three-length victory in this race last year off a three pound lower mark. His form has been patchy since then but his latest 11-length second to an easy winner at Chepstow was a step back in the right direction and perhaps a signal that he is about to hit top form once again. He seems relatively versatile with regards to underfoot conditions the booking of Sam Twiston-Davies catches the eye; Quincy Des Pictons can provide trainer Alan Johns with a much needed winner.
