Today's Follow The Money comes from Leopardstown and Wolverhampton...
We start at Leopardstown for our first back where Defy Logic has been backed into clear favouritism in the Grade 1 Novice Chase at 13:30, now trading at 2.8415/8 from an early 3.711/4. Paul Nolan's runner has taken well to fences, winning two of his three starts including over course and distance last time out where he had some of today's rivals behind. Although beaten by Felix Yonger (who re-opposes today) at Punchestown back in November, the softer ground today will suit.
With Tony McCoy in the saddle the gamble indicates he can reverse the form.
We go to Wolverhampton for our next positive, which is in the 1m6f Handicap at 15:30 - Rocky Rebel has been well-supported from 7.06/1 in to a current 4.47/2. This six-year-old had been off course since the summer before returning at Kempton on Wednesday where he finished fifth over a mile and a half. He steps up in trip here, which shouldn't inconvenience him, and he runs off a mark 7lb lower than he won off at Kempton a year ago. With both jockey and trainer both among the winners recently, the move suggests he can show improved form today.
We stay in the Midlands for today's negative where Supa Seeker continues to drift in the 1m Handicap at 17:00, now 2.427/5 from an initial 1.910/11. This eight-year-old was only beaten a neck at Kempton 11 days ago and sets the standard in what is a very weak race. However he's generally performed poorly here in the past and is up a couple of pounds for his last effort. With support for second favourite Una Bella Cosa, the drift says he will be denied again.
