Today's Follow The Money comes from Worcester and Newmarket.
Our first positive of the day comes in the form of course and distance winner, Royale's Charter, in the 14:50 at Worcester. Although the seven-year-old is yet to show the kind of form we saw 12 months ago after returning from a break, Nick Williams' gelding is in easier company today and will look to get back to winning ways here after being attractively weighted for this one based on last year's triumphant display. After being well backed from 5.24/1 in to 3.814/5, the continued support tells us that many fancy Nick Scholfield to repeat his success at Worcester today.
We take a trip over to Newmarket for our lay of the day in the 15:15. Rizeena may have won a Group 1 already, but that hasn't stopped the Clive Brittain trained filly drifting from an initially appealing 2.265/4 out to a concerning 2.942/1. The daughter of Iffraaj has already endured a gruelling campaign, running seven times which is a lot for a two-year-old, and with Godolphin bidding for a fourth winner in this race in successive years with dual Group winner Ihtimal and the undefeated Sound Reflection, this looks like it will prove one race too many in such a short space of time for Rizeena.
We return to Worcester for our final positive of the day. Sedgemoor Express has been well backed from a high of 6.86/1 in to 4.3100/30 and is being continually supported in this 2m Handicap Hurdle at 17:10. After two recent wins at Uttoxeter and Newton Abbot, Nigel Hawke's gelding will look to defy a penalty in a competitive field at the expense of Planetoid, who is up 16lbs since June. The five-year-old Sedgemoor Express to make it three wins from his last three runs is the recommended bet here.
