Seal Rock used to be a good sprinter, and has attracted some interest today in his first venture into Claiming company, in the 14:20 at Windsor. Having once carried 9-1 in the Wokingham Handicap, today's racing weight of 8-9 looks something of a gift, and he has the services of Jim Crowley. The trainer's sole raider from Yorkshire has been backed from 5.79/2 in to 4.216/5. The heavy going should be ok for him.

The 16:10 at Pontefract is a weak mile-and-a-half back-end maiden, where the front two in the betting look quite beatable. The New Pharoah, listed third in the market, has attracted some money, from 12.5 in to 9.617/2. Chris Wall's once-raced colt didn't really get into the action on his debut at Haydock but was considerately handled and may be more at home on today's easier surface. A small back is advised, and double up if market-support firms before the off.
