Today's Follow The Money comes from the meetings at Ludlow and Newbury.
We start at Newbury for the 13:50 Handicap Chase over two miles and two furlongs where Sustainability is now trading at 4.407/2 from 6.42. His trainer Venetia Williams has been in tremendous form of late and although his jumping let him down slightly last time out at Sandown, that track takes no prisoners and especially for novices. He won four consecutive hurdle races last year and always looked like he would make a fine chaser. The money suggests that he is expected to improve today from that last run especially now he is dropping back in trip.
We stay at Newbury for the 15:00 Novices Hurdle over two miles and three furlongs and Royal Guardsman has been showing some nice support into 4.407/2 from 6.005/1. He was highly regarded by his previous trainer Joe Tizzard and he won two of his four bumpers last year impressively. He looks like he could build on that form now over hurdles and the market support would seem to back that up.
Finally, we move on to Ludlow for the day's negative and Polly Peacham has drifted out to 3.1511/5 from 2.166/5 in the 15:15 Mares' Novices' Hurdle over two miles and five furlongs. The Nicky Henderson trained four year-old has won on her last two runs and while the form of those read well, she now has to give away a seven pound penalty over a longer distance. There are a few promising types in opposition today including the well supported Floral Spinner from the Bill Turner yard.
