Follow The Money: Roulette is worth a spin at Southwell

We begin with all-weather action

Today's Follow The Money comes from Southwell and Leicester.

"Columbian Roulette made his fibresand debut a few weeks ago and looked to have the race sewn up before suddenly jinking left and disposing of jockey Martin Dwyer, gifting the race to It's All A Game."

Back Columbian Roulette @ 2.486/4 in the 13:00 at Southwell

We begin with the 13:00 at Southwell, a Class 6 handicap over 1m, where Columbian Roulette has been extremely popular this morning, backed from a high of 3.7011/4 in to a current 2.486/4. This three-year-old made his fibresand debut a few weeks ago and looked to have the race sewn up before suddenly jinking left and disposing of jockey Martin Dwyer, gifting the race to It's All A Game. He has since gone up 7lbs in the handicap but he was three lengths ahead of the rest and drawing clear when unseating last time and compensation awaits

Next up is the 15:25 at Leicester where Carli King has been uneasy in the market this morning, trading at 3.8014/5 from an early 3.18. Caroline Bailey's 8yo was an emphatic winner last time out over a shorter trip and there is probably more to come from this former point winner, particularly now upped in trip. However, there are several interesting types in opposition today, most notably Grey Wulff who has been off the track for 743 days but has been very strong in the market and Mentalist who may improve up in trip. Given the strength of today's opposition and the market drift, lay is the call for Carli King.

We stay at Leicester for today's final selection which comes in the 2m4f handicap hurdle at 15:55. Kayf Moss has been the one for money, trading at a current 5.509/2 from a high of 12.16 this morning. This 6yo has some decent bumper form to his name, not beaten far into second by both Heath Hunter and Bally Rone last season, who are now rated 125 and 120 respectively. He was then well beaten in the Champion Bumper but the fact that he ran in a race of that nature reads well in the context of this Class 4 event. He hasn't delivered in three starts over timber this season but is tried in first time blinkers on his handicap debut today for which he looks fairly treated on his bumper form. Trainer John Flint is 3-6 at Leicester in recent years and Kayf Moss may start fulfilling the promise of those bumper runs today.
