Lay Orgilgo Bay @ 2.3611/8 13:40 Bangor

Back Polydamos @ 5.79/2 14:00 Lingfield

Back Radical Impact @ 7.613/2 15:10 Bangor

We start things off at Bangor for today's lay bet and in the 13:40 Orgilgo Bay has drifted out from 1.865/6 to 2.3611/8. Despite winning his last run at Punchestown in quite impressive fashion this race looks very competitive and he will have a lot of dangers to fend off, which is most likely the reason for the marked drift. Rutherglen won his first start over Hurdles in an un-competitive affair at Wetherby but he has the potential to improve any amount for that but the main opposition looks to be the Venetia Williams trained Baradari. Well supported this morning and he is quite easy to make a case for having been a very expensive recruit to the yard from France. He ran sixth in his first start over hurdles at Newbury but that was a competitive race and he may well have found a lot of improvement for that first run.

Heading over to Lingfield for their 14:00 we find our first back in the shape of Polydamos. Tony Carroll's gelding has been backed from a high of 8.415/2 in to favouritism at 5.79/2. Coming off arguably his career best run when fourth over a mile at Kempton in October he is racing today off of a career low mark and this positive is further boosted by the fact that in form and one of the leading all weather jockeys, Adam Kirby, retains the ride today. It would be no surprise if he could get Polydamos to put his head in front today off of this mark in a weak affair and there still looks like a bit of value to be had at the price.

We return to Bangor for our second back bet where in the 15:10 Radical Impact has been backed from 9.22 in to 7.613/2. Despite having been disappointing so far it is too soon to be writing off the Venetia Williams trained gelding and despite finishing no better than fourth so far he has been running in some fairly competitive races taking on the likes of Ptit Zig, Brave Buck and Sausalito Sunrise. Today's race looks more realistic and with likely favourite Night Of Passion carrying a penalty for having won at Plumpton on Monday he may find going tough today leaving the race open for Radical Impact to grasp the opportunity and get his head in front.
