Today's Follow the Money selections are from the cards at Fakenham, Haydock and Cheltenham...
Our first selection is at Fakenham in the 12:00 Juvenile Hurdle where Operation Tracer has been backed in from 5.79/2 in to 3.65. This three-year-old gelding performed well on its debut over obstacles 12 days ago when the ground was similar than today's. The added experience of 'Choc' Thornton on-board will help improve on his eye-catching run last time out. The market suggests that he could notch up a win for trainer Michael Bell today.
Today's negative runs at Haydock in the 15:00 where Pure Excellence has drifted considerably from a market low of 2.588/5 out to a high of 3.1511/5. This is a very competitive four runner race and, although the trip and the ground both suit this Mark Johnston trained 2yo filly, opponents such as Fat Gary and Bravo Youmzain have been progressive and will be serious contenders for the victory today.
At Cheltenham, in the 15:20, Irish-raider Heaney has had a lot of support on the exchanges this morning having been steadily backed from 7.87/1 in to 4.77/2. This 5yo gelding is a stand out pick in this 20 runner handicap due to his recent form in Ireland where he won over soft ground in Bellewstown and then negotiated a 20-runner field to win as favourite at Gowran Park last time out. He's still well treated by the handicappers today and the exchange suggest that many believe a hat-trick of three milers is on the cards.
