The markets have been reviewed and today's three Follow The Money selections come from the meetings at Catterick and Windsor...
We start with today's lay selection which comes in the 14:30 1m Handicap at Windsor where So Noble has been surprisingly uneasy in the market. William Muir's 3yo gelding runs under a penalty following a half-length victory over course and distance last time and with similar going today he would appear to have everything in his favour for the follow-up.
However the market appears to be speaking against his chances and the reason may be that his last run came just eight days ago and for a horse who hasn't had a lot of racing for a 340,000gns yearling, there may just be a feeling that this race may come around a little too soon. Having been well supported on his two previous starts we would like to have seen the same confidence again and so in its absence we are happy to join in with a lay at 2.3211/8.
Next we move to Catterick's 15:50 2m Handicap where Sir Mark Prescott's 3yo filly Jolie Blonde has been very well supported having been backed from a high of 3.39/4 in to 2.486/4.
She is looking to complete a hat-trick today having taken handicaps at Bath and Catterick already this season and she returns to the scene of the latter again and over the same distance once more. She has risen 10lbs in the handicap for her latest effort but she won easily enough that day and backers clearly feel there is still plenty more scope for improvement off her current handicap mark of 69. She appears to be suited by any going and a back is the call today.
Our final selection is the largest mover of the day, Essanar, who runs in the 16:00 1m2f Handicap at Windsor. Andrew Hollinshead's 3yo has seen relentless support this morning, starting at 16.5 he has been smashed in to 7.06/1.
He is still a maiden after eight starts but ran probably his best race to date last time out when running a respectable 5th of 11 in a 1m3½ maiden at Bath last time. He finished surrounded by horses rated in the 70's that day and he comes in to this off his lowest handicap mark to date of 52 which would give him plenty in hand if the form of his latest run holds up. Today's soft going may see him at his best and with the Hollinshead name synonymous with landing a gamble and little confidence behind anything else in the market he is our most confident selection for Follow The Money backers today.
