The markets have been reviewed and today's three Follow The Money selections come from the meetings at Ayr and Newton Abbot...
We start the day at Newton Abbot in the 14:10 Novices' Hurdle. Vesperal Dream has been drifting this morning from 1.42/5 out to 1.564/7. This Paul Nicholl- trained gelding gave a good account of himself over hurdles at Taunton in April, tracking the winner from two out and kept on well in the closing stages to take second. He found found it difficult to maintain his form finishing a well beaten seventh later that same month at Sandown Park. His short price reflects the optimism now back hurdling but the market is moving in the wrong direction and we feel this favourite is worth taking on at the price.
Staying at Newton Abbot for our first positive-of-the-day running in the 15:10 Handicap Hurdle. Look For Love has been backed in to 7.613/2 from 16.015/1. This Sue Gardner-trained gelding won twice at Exeter in 2012/13 and although disappointing last term the efforts at Chepstow in March and here back in April suggest he may be on his way back. Found 21f to far so the drop back in trip will suit.
We head over to Ayr for our final selection in the 15:20 Handicap. It has been difficult to ignore the gamble gaining momentum for Balducci. Backed in this morning from 14.013/1 in to 5.69/2 this David O'Meara trained gelding won a 1m event for Andrew Balding back in 2011 but he's rarely come close since then. We really are following the money on this one, but he's won fresh before and off a much higher mark than today so if O'Meara has worked his magic as the market suggests, we invite you to join us!
