Today's Follow The Money comes from the meetings at Beverley and Brighton
We start at Beverley and the 14:45 where Christmas Light has been heavily backed this morning from 9.417/2 in to 5.59/2. Brian Ellison's mare hasn't been seen at her best so far this term finishing down the field on her two outings at York, but she returns to a track where she has won once and placed twice from four outings, including taking a race over today's distance around this time last year. She comes in to this race off a 3lb lower mark than her last winning run and looks to have a very good chance in this contest if she returns to old form, which the market suggests she will.
We stay at Beverley and the 16:15 7f Handicap where Nigel Tinkler's Last Destination has seen huge support, backed in from a high of 25.024/1 and is now available at 15.014/1. He has won three times at this track in the past but comes in to this race 3lbs out of the handicap. He was below par for most of 2013 and on his two starts so far this year but this is factored in the big price and punters clearly feel that offers some value if he can return to his old form. The main danger comes in the form of Surround Sound who has also come in for support having been backed from 13.012/1 in to 7.26/1.
Our lay selection comes in the 16:30 7f Handicap at Brighton where Ocean Legend has been very weak in the market and is now available to lay at 3.9 from 2.962/1 this morning. Tony Carroll's veteran still looks to be off a decent mark if he can reproduce the form of his last win which came on his penultimate start at Brighton last month. However that was his first win on turf from 30 attempts and despite the small field he faces some decent opposition today in the form of Just Isla and Alcando, the latter having come in for some support this morning (6.411/2 in to 5.49/2).
