Today's three go at Chepstow, Ludlow and Wolverhampton

"Parsnip Pete's early mark of 7.06/1 looked too big and has been duly snapped up but it appears as if there may still be a bit of value in him at 5.69/2."

Back Parsnip Pete @ 5.69/2 in the 16:40 at Ludlow

Today's lay comes from the 15:40 at Chepstow where Solstice Son has proved very easy to back drifting from an early mark of 1.9310/11 out to 2.35/4. Despite being in very good form of late and also appearing to be well-handicapped having knocked up a recent double in handicaps (due to go up a hefty 13lb from Saturday), there seems to be a feeling that the hat-trick attempt may have come a bit too soon and the early offering of odds-on prices was not taken up with the zest he has shown in his two previous runs. Midnight Oscar for the Kim Bailey team has been well-supported to bring the winning streak to an end and the money tells us it may be worth avoiding Solstice Son today.

Our first back comes from Ludlow where Parsnip Pete has seem some support in the 2m Handicap Chase at 16:40. Having been matched as high as 7.06/1 he is now in to a comfortable mark of around 5.69/2 where he seems to have plateaued. His last two runs have been very promising - a good second off of 132 at Newbury and a very solid fourth over 2m at Cheltenham off of 137, despite blundering the first fence that day. He is 1lb lower today and in lesser company so should be able to make his presence felt on ground he clearly enjoys. The early mark of 7.06/1 looked too big and has been duly snapped up but it appears as if there may still be a bit of value in him at 5.69/2.

Our final back today is Julie Camacho's gelding My Single Malt in the 17:30 at Wolverhampton. He has seen significant support this morning from an early mark of 8.88/1 he now trades at 5.59/2.  Without a win since August 2010 the market suggests a return to the winners' enclosure is imminent. A new combination of hood and cheekpieces may prove the key to unlocking My Single Malt's fortunes and it will be drinks all round if he wins today.
