Today's Follow The Money comes from Ascot and Southwell.
We start at Ascot's 15:30 fillies' Listed event where favourite Beatrice Aurore has been weak in the market, moving out to 3.052/1 from 2.6213/8. The selection does have the highest official rating in the field and is also taking a step down in class. However, she looks to be suited by further than today's mile and is winless in six starts. With a few last time out winners in the field, the selection may again have to settle for minor honours again today.
Next we head to Southwell's National Hunt card where Ivan Vasilevich has been well supported for the 16:20, now trading at 2.35/4 having earlier been 2.8815/8. This former useful Flat performer has been improving steadily over obstacles. He was a winner earlier this month at Stratford when switched to forcing tactics and he should be able to dictate again today. There should still be more to come on this his fourth hurdles start and he is taken to land the double this afternoon.
Lastly, in Southwell's 16:50, there has been a move for Morning Farewell. This one was 18.5 earlier and is now 8.615/2. Yet to score in 14 attempts, the selection was a fair runner up when last seen a year ago. He has since changed stables and the money suggests the horse has been showing up well at home. Under a talented claimer, a big effort could be on the cards today.
