Today's Follow the Money comes from Kempton and Newcastle...

"The race of the day at Newcastle looks a thrilling and wide open contest and we will look to side with the Dr Richard Newland-trained chaser. Having proven himself over the distance two starts back when winning impressively over 4m at Kelso, he also pitched in with a decent third over a lesser distance but a competitive field in a class one event at Warwick last time out."

We start the day at Kempton where we will look to back Activial, running in the 14:05. Harry Fry's hurdler has been well supported all morning moving in from 4.03/1 in to 2.942/1. A lot of positives can be taken from his last run, which was a first start for the yard and over hurdles, when finishing a respectable second to leading Triumph Hurdle contender Calipto at Newbury. Since then Calipto has gone on to win again and with the yard opting to give this horse the winter off, this should be a good opportunity to get off the mark before heading to Cheltenham for a run in the Triumph Hurdle itself. Trainer Harry Fry has a fantastic 40% strike rate, not to mention a healthy profit to a £1 level stake, here at Kempton, and we think this French fancy will go one better and claim victory here today.

Staying at Kempton we find our negative mover of the day and look to lay Balder Succes, who runs in the 14:40. A slide in the market has seen him move from a low of 2.111/10 out to 2.77/4. Although successful last time out in a Grade 2 event there have been big question marks raised over the horse's stamina, seeming to struggle for form running anything further than 2m. Main rival in the field and market, Fox Appeal, on the other hand has shown plenty on his four chase starts and should relish the step up in trip from 2m to 2m4f, winning two starts back at 2m3f. In what looks like a two horse contest we, and the punters, are going to side with Fox Appeal to out stay Balder Succes.

Last but not least we look to our final back of the day who runs in the 14:55 at Newcastle. Royale Knight has plunged in price, moving from 15.5 in to a now available price of 9.89/1. The race of the day at Newcastle looks a thrilling and wide open contest and we will look to side with the Dr Richard Newland-trained chaser. Having proven himself over the distance two starts back when winning impressively over 4m at Kelso, he also pitched in with a decent third over a lesser distance but a competitive field in a class one event at Warwick last time out. A step back up in trip and with jockey Joshua Moore on board, who is 1/1 at Newcastle, we are confident of a commanding display today in this fascinating affair.
